I know these waters are mostly fished in the winter, but has anybody fished the Trent at Handsacre, or the Mease at Harlaston over the summer? If so how did you do? Was planning on doing a recce soon but put this out to members before I make the journey and will put a bit of roving gear in the car if it’s fishable . Thanks.

Re: Trent and mease.

Not fished the Mease for years but last time I looked at it, it was severely affected by abstraction.
There are two basic approaches:
You can rove around, quietly dropping into fishy spots and giving it the full Mr Crabtree or you can find a peg 30m or so above a deep bend and draw the fish to you while trotting a bait - with a trickle of mashed bread or floaters used to draw the fish .
