The Warwickshire Avon is becoming choked with weed due to the high level of nutrients from sewage. Treated sewage and raw sewage is high in Phosphate and this has been a problem for a decade or more.
The weed growth in the last couple of seasons is a major concern and the growth acts like a filter becoming black with the pollution. Next time down the river check out the filthy black weed in the margins.
