In this day and age.....

Just tried to renew my membership on-line.
I put in my details and hit continue to be confronted with a Paypal login page.
I'm not registered with Paypal and have no intention of providing my bank details to a third party company - no matter how trusted.
Of course, I can't go to the local tackle shop to get a card and although I work less than a kilometre from the old headquarters, I can't go there either.
In fact, without a car or a Paypal account, I can't buy a card at all.
Is it just me or is this a stupid?
I'm now going to have to wait until a mate goes to pick up his card and ask him to pick up mine.
I feel for the folks living around Tewksbury or Stratford who have ridiculously long drives to buy a card.
This mess must be hitting the BAA in the pocket when there are so many anglers travelling to fish the Severn as part of a holiday.

How hard is it to sort this issue out?
Even selling cards through Amazon Marketplace would provide a better service.

How can you buy from amazon if you're not prepared to give bank card details to a third party

Re: In this day and age.....

why cant you buy over the phone and let BAA post it to you ?
unless you a new member we get letters every year telling us to renew.
you can send a cheque or just phone and pay with card smiling
and BAA always super quick to post out.
so dont really matter where in uk you live smiling

Most, if not all associations require you to join online Ken, it's all part of this 'day and age'.

Get a grip!

All you have to do is send the renewal form back with a cheque and self addressed envelope I think you can do a postal order as well simple really

Re: In this day and age.....

If you scroll down the home page to BAA Document Downloads you can download the Membership Application Form and send this, together with a cheque/postal order and Self Addressed Stamped Envelope and no need for a PayPal/Credit Card or other Debit details being 'on-line' if you have reservations using such 'web' payment methods. If renewing your membership your Membership Number is on the renewal notification letter you should have received in December 2016? If not, then this is on your current Membership Card - it doesn't change!

Re: In this day and age.....

The real easy way is to set up a direct debit and your card will be sent to you each year.
I have been doing this for a while now without any problems.
Hope this helps!
