In response to the Latest News item, on the front page, regarding the EA River Level website the 2 new sites mentioned appear to contain similar, if not more detailed information, about the present and up to 5 day historic level indications for waterways with potential flood risks. The format is somewhat different from the 'old' EA website but contains the same sort of information. I have noticed the location icons need to be clicked on several times to reveal the detailed information. Navigation around the maps appears similar to Google Maps or Google Earth but no 'satellite detail overlay' just standard map detail.
Also other resources are available on website riverlevels.uk and also Gauge Map - Latest River Levels Map for Britain & Ireland [http://www.gaugemap.co.uk/]. These contain more sophisticated river level data with satellite and map detail.
I don't know if anyone else has used these web resources but I trust the information is useful for us river fishermen?

Re: EA River & Sea Level Website Replaced

I haven't used the new website so much as yet but the main thing for me is that is doesn't mention what the normal level is (unless I've missed it). It's all well and good telling me what the level is but if I don't know the normal level then how do I know how much the river is up?

Re: EA River & Sea Level Website Replaced

The new website when opened at each monitoring station tells you the current level under the heading banner. If you scroll down to 'more about this station' and open key features then this displays the typical range with all the relevant details. Hope this helps?
