If the the fish kill last June on the Warwickshire Avon hadn't happened I might be tempted to have a go once the river drops a bit and the stinking, black sludge left on the bank dries out. With fish stocks so low,I can't see any pleasure,at the moment, in sitting there, everything covered in mud, waiting for a bite that will more than likely never happen.
Maybe,we won't get any more rain, the river will drop and clear, the banks will dry in the next nineteen days. If this happens(doubtful)I'll venture out deadbaiting for a late season Pike on the LAA water at Wasperton. Either way I'm reasonably happy with my season on a "dead" water, had quite a few very nice Chub,a few Eels and Pike. Oh,and a lot of blanks. As the song says "Things, can only get better",roll on next season with my new pb target speices.
