HI all,
Fished at Broadwas on Saturday as i fancied a break from the predator fishing. Didn't do very well to be honest, only managed a couple of grayling on the stick float. Whilst I was there I was surrounded by some great wildlife, kingfishers, woodpeckers, tree creepers and pheasants. However, throughout the day I regularly saw Mink bounding up and down the river bank, sometimes several at a time. I know much has been made amongst angling circles of the increase in otter numbers but I was suprised at just how many mink there were and also the fact that they did not seem that bothered by my presence. This can't be a good thing for the fish and other wildlife that call the riverbank home in my opinion. Not sure if it's common knowledge about the levels of mink on the river here? I also saw what was either a mink or an otter at Pensham the other week ( it was too dark to tell which one it was). Be interested to hear if other anglers are seeing mink especially in such large numbers?
