Just to note, I can see Peachy made reference to myself as in info sent, I have been a member for over 40 years, but I tend to fish instead of type.
Just so as no one thinks Peachy gave any specific info, he answered questions on, how far was the walk, do I need my barrow and general access and pegging regarding a small club match we had in the coming weeks, so no damage done!!
I have fished many places in my life that include, Personal permission and gillie tours on Salmon beats on the Wye (for barbel and Chub), Lower Severn waters controlled by the BS, private sections on the W Avon, Stour, Derwent.
Like a few people I have met my fair share of secret squirrels, my approach is, If i am invited to fish a private water and asked to keep quiet then i respect the wishes and stay stum, but if its waters open to general membership like the BAA, then I see no reason in sharing info on areas, types of swims, best time of year, species to expect etc... if i can be of any help I will, after all the river changes from one day to the next at what I recommend may be rubbish on the day, but the more people that catch and enjoy then hopefully the stronger the membership will be which is surely the best for us all. we are losing too many River anglers as it is.
