for my membership card by the friendly bailiff on the fazeley canal today doesn't happen very often. went up there today to see if there was any preds left in the cut after it was zapped by the canal @ river trust. turned out to be very hard work as all i managed to bank was 1 perch no bigger than the mini paddle tail lure i was using. met a nice chap called mick who was dead baiting and he told me he had a couple of pike out mid week so nice to hear they didn't take em all out. oh well time to give the pike a rest as it's coming up to spawning time which means it's time for me to get the match gear out til next october.

Re: nice to be asked..................Be nice to see an EA bailiff on the bank. Been asked for my rod licence twice in 55 years of fishing. The last time was 21 years ago.

Re: nice to be asked..................Agreed. My record is 2x in 21 years. The simple truth is that EA bailiffs are an endangered species and those which do exist concentrate on the low hanging fruit of token visits to commercials (where they can add 15-20 to the stats in an hour) rather than walking miles and spending hours along a canal towpath or river bank and add nothing to the stats. It's a number crunching cost/benefit exercise necessitated by the meagre staffing levels.
