Morning All

My friend and I fished Fladbury on a night permit each back in August. Prior to purchasing the tickets I enquired to see if anyone else was booked that night (as we wanted to fish when the place was at its quietest). Arrived about 6pm and went to the gated weir pool area and was met by the landowners security guard, who checked our BAA membership (he stated that his jurisdiction did not cover checking if BAA members also had night permits). There was already a gentleman fishing the run off with a bivvie, stove, reclining chair etc was already there in situ. I asked him if he had a night permit, he didn’t know you needed one and pleaded his innocence and asked me if he could purchase over the phone but was clearly there for the night!!!!I left him to it and my mate and I went downstream. I contacted the BAA office the next day and reported the incident making the point that BAA bailiff’s should be focussing on the venues we’re night fishing is permitted. Also was the BAA assuming that the landowner’s security guard checking that folk had night permits? The answer to the first question was that the BAA bailiffs do as much as they can to cover stretches but cannot be everywhere all the time. I suggested that focussing on high profile/night permit venues should be a priority. This point was accepted albeit an obvious point. I was not given an answer to my second point. In for a penny infor a pound (£20 quid actually)…..I cheekily asked for a refund on the night permits and was met with the standard level of customer care! Lol.
