The announcement on the news feed and updated 'Where to Fish' map informing members of the code for the new lock on the gate is well meaning but probably doesn't prevent access to the car park as anybody can now obtain the number by going on the website.I presume this is the easy way of informing members of the code and less costly than sending out letters.
I expect the lock will either be bolt cut off or someone just removes it or loses it!
Maybe BAA should have put a notice on the website informing members of the installation of the lock and asked members requiring access to contact the 'office' to obtain the code by way of quoting their membership number via email, phone or letter? I suggest the code is changed, each year, and the members renewing their membership be notified when they receive their membership cards.
