Read their replies, looked to be a lot vague answers in there. If removing the weir is so important for fish movement an reproduction, why did the EA authorize the installation of the 2 screws to generate power at Pershore. Surely this is causing fish deaths, particularly eels,(endangered species) and caused an obstruction to fish movement?

Re: powick weir

No Shad in the Avon, but I once did see a Salmon 'shoot' the Weir at Pershore ,, reported that to the EA , but seemed to be of no interest to them. Well it was to me.
I respect those anglers that are against the removal of Powick Weir, however I have also listened to some convincing arguments regarding the removal, so I am very much in the undecided camp, of course if the Barbel were to return in numbers it would be a positive, and of course the Shad.
Whatever, the Teme does need some looking after, there are a lot of barriers to fish movement, perhaps a bit of tinkering here and there will help'
BAA have a vested interest in the River, I would like to see some input from the Club as to how they see things.
