Re: Re: River Severn Bewdley

Hi Dave

The Anker is my local stretch too, although I have never done too well on it - a few small perch. The stretch the other side of Polesworth is supposed to hold specimen chub and a few barbel though... operated by Birchmoor AC, do you know anything about this?

As for fishing in and around Bewdley, I've spent some time there over the years as my folks have a static caravan there.

I find upstream of Bewdley to be better for barbel and chub, my favourite pegs being 'the bridge' at Northwood and peg 9 at Trimpley, which is also one of Des Taylor's favourites - there's a little gorge about 18ft out, barbel hang in there and so long as you keep the feed going in you'll do well in the summer months when the flow isn't so fast - the whole area has been wrecked over the last few weeks and I believe the EA are carrying out work at Trimpley at the moment.

Downstream at Ribbesford produces good pike, the deep hole in front pf peg 110 on the KDA ticket being the best in my opinion.
