Hello to everyone
A returning member this year after about 30 years, i decided to try a old haunt as i used to fish here quite a lot.
Arrived to find the river about 4ft up and rising and well coloured, anyway, not good conditions but i try it, started on maggot feeder for a few hours, nowt, put a peice of meat on and wham the rod went round, netted a lovely condition barbel about 5lb, ide forgot how hard these fish can fight.
Anyway i was well happy and nice to have met local bailiff Rob, just be careful of the banks guys them treacherous, all the best

The change of bait made all the difference then Ken. Sounds like you were fishing in difficult conditions. Can be a tough venue at the best of times, so well done mate.
