Am I the only BAA member who finds it amazing that a BAA bailiff has to resort to pleading on the forum for his stretch to receive some maintenace from BAA work parties? Out of curiosity I went to Underdale today and walked the downstream stretch, nice looking stretch of river I have to say but totally overgrown as far as a "senior member" like me who can no longer do an impersonation of a mountain goat to get down to the pegs. Looking at the "planned work" on this website it is clear that most resource early season or close season is put into the Warks Avon, but why? Many stretches of the Avon as far as I remember (used to fish it regularly 30 yrs ago when I was young and fit and I lived in Birmingham) have the main bank level are only 2-5 feet above normal river level, so don't really need much looking after. Most stretches of the Middle Severn are 10-15 feet above normal river level, so need work to make pegs accessible safely for everyone, not just old gits like me. Come on BAA admin, at least provide a response on the forum, after all you set it up we didn't! No point having this forum if the BAA mgmt ignore it is there?
