Re: zander fishing

76 views and no one can be arsed to help!!! Not a pred angler crafty, but you might try Eckington just below the Swan neck. Lower Lode at Tewkesbury (Severn) is good too, Day Ticket on the Cheltenham Rowing Club lawn can produce some big Z's and Pike. Remember live baiting is not possible on BAA waters, but Lower Lode you can.
Hope this helps.

Re: zander fishing

I believe Marlcliff has zander, have had pike from there but not zander as yet, not that I fish for them every trip there, but it might be worth a try, certainly plenty of pike in there. Maybe another member can throw more light on the venue.

Re: zander fishing

Bidford left bank down to the weir was good for zander a few years back but I don’t know what damage the resident otter has done. But I think with regards to baa waters on the Avon that’s one of the better stretches for zander,As for the baa waters on the Severn I think the lower the better for zander.....I knew it wouldn’t be long before “negative Neil” reared his head again.Just a thought but maybe the 76 people that viewed the post didn’t have any useful information to add to it?As far as I’m aware the forum rules don’t dictate that you have to comment on everything you read....just saying.

Re: zander fishing

Stew if you had some info that might help why didn't you post then? It's a forum and not your own personal place to keep up a vendetta against whoever you might feel is deserving of your latest rant, You are a BAA official can I suggest you act like one?

At least it has got the ball rolling, and you call me negative, if I was negative I wouldn't bother posting you plonker!!grin

Re: zander fishing

Why didn’t I post?Read the above again and you will see that I have posted information about zander fishing. The last time I checked a baa official was a volunteer, not a public servant and you are the only one Neil that has a regular problem with everyone associated with the baa.If people want to view and not comment then that’s up to them!

Volunteering anything does not excuse rudeness, but at least we have got the OP some info, that's the main thing.

Re: zander fishing

I'm not a predator bloke, but I remember a couple of mates catching plenty of zander 20 years back, on the Lower Avon, so Bredon and Mythe etc. Suppose that makes sense really, plenty of zander in the Severn a mile or two down where the Avon joins the Severn.

If i was going to fish for zander, that's where I'd go i think.

Re: zander fishing

Best of luck crafty Kevin, if there was one pred I wouldn't mind fishing for it's a Zander. As John says where the Avon joins the Severm but that can be one of two places, The Mill Avon joins up at Lower Lode, which is a good venue, easy to fish on the Boathouse Lawn too, and full of fish. Or where it meets the Severn 'proper' just below the Mythe waterworks, never fished there, but most of it controlled by Tewkesbury Popular AA but there is a bit of 'free' fishing there too. wink
