Re: SEVERN BLACKSTONE

Hi, had similar problems earlier this season. The gulley between the Rock is very uneven and if your car sits low like mine you are in danger of grounding, and getting stuck. It looks a difficult job, but could really do with sorting by the baa. It's a really nice stretch of water, just a shame about the access and the ruts. I understand most access tracks, to baa waters are not the associations, property, but this one is really quite dodgy. Thanks. Tc

Re: Teme Heaven

Hi Mark, sounds like a bit of a struggle at Severn Stoke at pres, think the river could do with a bit water on, just to liven it up. Fished Broadwas on Tuesday, and had a good day. Had two immaculate barbel, both around 7lb, from two different swims, plus two chub again around 3lb each. Give me a call on 07739759832 and I will give you more details. Will probably try next week, mon or thus. Regards Tc.

Re: Teme Heaven

Mark, just a thankyou, for helping me get those two chub in the net at Broadwas, on Tuesday. Don't think I would have got them out without your help. Did manage another big long chub, about 4lb, after you left. I fished marlcliff on the Avon today, hadn't fished it for years and was suprised to see how it had changed. To be fair rivers constantly change, and pegs that once produced, disappear and new ones are created. In general I think there are less pegs than there used to be, but that is consistent with fewer anglers fishing the rivers. Fished the stick and centerpin, on the straight above the weir. Had several nice perch to a pound, plus a chub about 2lb at the end of day, plus plenty of dace. Fished quite tough, but river was low and clear. Spoke to a guy who fishes it regular below the weir, who said he has had a number of good barbel out this year. Might try teme again next week, if weather holds. Ps picked up a rod rest, on the bank on Tuesday, will let you have it back next time I see you Mark. Cheers Tc.

Re: Teme Heaven

Hi fished Broadwas again yesterday, started badly loosing three good fish in an hour in a snaggy swim. Two dodgy hook links, and one very clever chub, to blame. Managed three decent chub by end of play. Did get to see my first otter ever, which surfaced about six foot away from me. I don't know who was more suprised, me or the otter. The tree house peg is at the top of the second field at Broadwas, it's a fair walk, but if you travel light, it's worth it, even if you don't catch. River could do with a bit of colour in it, but not too much. Tight lines all. Tc

Re: Teme Heaven

Hi chaps, thanks for the replys on my teme posts. You obviously love being on the river as much as I do at the moment. Think we've got a few more weeks yet before the weather turns grim and the fishing goes down the pan. Fished doddenham last week, nice looking stretch with two or three really fishy pegs. Had one chub, but struggled for bites so roamed down to the top end of Broadwas. Really beautiful stretch of river that can be walked at the moment in waders. Have still not seen an otter yet in three visits. No signs of fish carcasses so hope fully they are not having too much effect on fish stocks. Moved to Broadwas late on and had three more fish including one barbel about 5lb. Spoke to a young chap who like myself has joined, as a new member this year. He joined just to fish the rivers, and said he has had quite a few successful days on a number of venues. It was nice to see someone younger, keen to fish on running water. I thought it was just us old farts, that liked the rivers. Gonna try teme again tomorrow , either Bransford or Broadwas. Tight lines to all. Ps could do with nice chub like the near 5lb fish you had. Cheers from Tc.
