Re: Walcot Lake

What about trying Harper Adams? They're based in Shropshire.

Stack lands Access

There is a sign outside the gate warning of 51 days of roadworks starting on 31 December. With the gate currently locked, I'm not sure if there will be anywhere left to park

Re: Walcot Lake

Could a local college not be approached that does fisheries management to ask them to see what they can do? This would allow them to give practical experience to students while seeking to bring Walcot back to the venue that many still care about. A quick internet search shows that Moreton Morrell college in Warwickshire offer fisheries management for one

Re: Teme Heaven

I've always liked the Teme but never done very well on it. Inspired by your post I tried Doddenham a couple of weeks ago and had one bit for a rainbow trout around a pound. Saturday I tried Stanford Bridge. There are some great pegs at the top end (credit to the fisheries team) but alas no action. After a lovely morning in the sun I decided to return to Doddenham. No luck so moved (again) to Broadway. After squeezing in to a peg amongst trees I was rewarded with a gorgeous four and a half pound barbel. Not huge but in great condition and a fish I was thrilled with. Despite trying other pegs I had no further action but I was so pleased to get the barbel in such natural surroundings. In all of these sessions I had only seen one other angler. I know that there are few pegs which therefore need to be looked after and protected but what a joyful place to be. The fishing certainly isn't easy but the Teme is gorgeous. Thanks for reminding me!
