Re: Stick Float Fishing So glad to hear this, I don't own a swim feeder! my wife and myself only float fish. Sometimes I use one of my centre pins, or my good old ABU 506s. Having fished the Severn for over 50 years I reckon nobody will know how to float fish eventually. This year the river has fished it head off, had great nets of silvers , with chub to 4lb + and the occasional barbel. Posted on August 11, 2015 at 8:06 AM
Re: Foam on river Hi All I commented on this last year to the environment agency , canals and rivers, even an article in the Angling Times. I posed the question, could this foam be coming from the large amount of car washes that have sprung up. and the run off entering water courses. due to grey water entering the storm water system.? Re: Rubbish left on bank Last rubbish saga on the bank, went to Arley yesterday( seem to spend half my life at Arley) anyway got to a nice trotting peg, and someone had deposited some ones ashes in the water. Sentimental , but totally inconsiderate. Then around 5.30pm a group of right tossers 5 of them ( summer fishermen) came up the river in a 12ft dingy with a tiny outboard about 4.5 hp hardly making any headway, through my swim , grunted " caught any barbel " took about 10 minutes to clear the Island . I'm sure I heard a banjo playing.I think both actions are illegal. Roll on the autumn when they will disappear. Posted on July 10, 2015 at 2:42 PM
Re: Upper Severn and River Lugg stretches Hi barisaxman I went to Newnham bridge the start of June, saw the best hatch of Mayfly on and off the river not a thing was topping. Walked a good mile down stream and back nothing. Tried down stream nymph nothing , the river looked sterile not even a suicidal salmon parr .
