Re: BAA PULSE SURVEY ( QUESTIONNAIRE)

I also enquired about some feedback and was told it was unlikely members would be told. A bit pointless really.

Re: Junior Angling.

I remember as a youngster being a member of the B'ham Starlets which was run by the BAA's own Kenneth Aske. We used to fish every week and fish the nationals, etc. There were far more members then but then again there were junior clubs. How many people are there out there like Kenneth who are prepared to give up every weekend for other people's children? The lack of opportunities for youngsters to fish means they will never taste what it has to offer. Perhaps the BAA could look at young angler days in the summer where kids could just turn up and have a crack on one of the venues. Yes, it would be a pain and need organising but that's not to say it couldn't be done otherwise angling is going to die out.

Re: Blue Ball AC match fished Sunday 9th August

These results would be much more meaningful if they had a bit more detail such as pegs/areas for those making the frame and breakdown of the catches in the top 4. For example:

1st Bob Smith 5lb 2oz (One 2lb perch and silver fish) Peg 4 or downstream section. Just a thought when clubs are providing details.

Re: Licence Dodgers and Poaching

BAA are way to slow to respond to most things. As much as I appreciate the amount of venues and the cost, the way it's run is pretty poor compared to many other clubs, and I speak from experience of being a member in other clubs. The Angling Trust published a set of notices in different languages. I sent these to the BAA who chose to disregard them. If the BAA cannot be seen to help themselves and be proactive then it will come as no surprise to see the current issues continue.

Re: Stacklands new Wye fishery

Let's just hope the usual idiots can refrain from leaving a load of litter like so many of our stretches.
