Re: Bank clearing. ..???I just want to reassure readers that any contractors which we employ will be given very clear instructions on what is and is not required. We will not be undertaking anything on the same scale as E.A. or the navigation authority. Our work will be strictly to provide clear pegs for every member, whether they consider themselves to be match anglers, specimen or single-species anglers, or just merely humble pleasure anglers.

Re: GirlingAS Pensham 1-2-3 Match - FarceThe days of amateur volunteers doing bank clearing without proper qualified supervision are gone. Health & Safety legislation rules that out. The BAA is looking to get this work done by employing contractors. Yes it will be costly and it will take time to catch up on the backlog, but at least we will no longer be open to the charge of "not giving a toss".

Re: Bank clearing. ..???Sad to have to say it but, in today's world of health & safety legislation, it is no longer viable to encourage, or even allow, people to work on river banks without proper supervision and qualification. Gone are the days when a mob could turn up at a venue and be let loose with all manor of tools and home made equipment, cutting out pegs and having a jolly good time.

Re: illegal FishingIf the BAA only had 35 pegs to look after, I guess they too would be "Rolls Royce" pegs.

Re: Night FishingYou should be aware that night fishing on BAA waters is generally prohibited. We do allow night fishing on a few, selected venues where we own the fishery, however this is only available to members who book and pay for additional night permits.
