Re: Mythe Pool

You're right. it marks one corner of a wire cage, 3 metre x 3 metre square x 2metre deep, which was put in to act as a fish refuge against cormorant predation. four ball-valve floats were attached to the corners, but obviously not secure enough. I expect the cage is now well festooned with leads and swimfeeders,

Re: The future of the BAA

Details of the AGM are on every members' membership card. All you have to do is read it! Also, I can correct yet another myth which seems to be that the Association has some sort of bias towards clubs and contest fishing - it is simply not true. And clubs are not notified about the AGM to the exclusion of individuals. The AGM is open to every member and the Agenda is always posted on the web site during September.

Re: BUSHLEY 20 POUND PIKE PHOTO ?

Gentlemen. This forum is for the purpose of posting news and commenting on issues of interest to other anglers. It is not intended as a means of expressing vile and abusive personal attacks on each other. If you cannot conduct your conversations in a manner which is becoming to reasonable people, then you should find some other method of expressing your opinions because they are not welcome here.
I regret that a number of abusive posts have had to be removed from this link.

Re: ripple bailif

No member should ever mind about being approached by an Association Bailiff, after all, they are only looking after your interests. And if you do not want to get involved in a conversation, all you have to say is "excuse me, but i want to carry on fishing".
Bailiffs should always be polite, but firm when speaking to members and any who aren't should be reported to the BAA office. When you are approached by a Bailiff, they will show you their Warrant card containing a photo and their name. If they don't, you should request to see it and make a note of the bailiff's name in case you intend to make a report.
Regarding the rules on fishing times and to be absolutley clear, there is no mention in the rules about "before or after dark".
The rules state that members should not be fishing, or even present, at any BAA fishery, before one hour before sunrise and after one hour after sunset. This means that you have to be packed up and gone by the stated time (which in summer can often be before it is properly dark).
Sunrise and sunset times are published on the internet and can be accessed via a link on the BAA web site.
