Going to try Apperley Pools again on Saturday.
My last trip was unsuccessful so looking for any tips , tactics or baits please.

Interested to know how you got on. I have fished here 4 times in the last couple of months. Tried the tip, pole, and waggler; and an assortment of baits but couldn't beg a bite. Today I parked at Deerhurst and walked the Severn Way down to Apperley. I came off the path and sat on the grassy bank in the sunshine. The pool looked devoid of life not even a duck and nothing topping. I was about to carry on with my walk after about twenty minutes when there was a big swirl off to my left and then I saw an Otter nosing by an overhanging bush. Apperley is not a big pool and I suspect the 500 or so fish that were put in have long gone. I for one will not bother visiting again.

Hello,
Caught about a dozen perch on maggot. Not a touch on pellet or corn. My mate had a tench and some roach but bites were hard to come by. We packed in after 3 hours as it was getting too hot.
A couple of other anglers too seemed to be struggling. They were also surprised that only one pool available as the other one is inaccessible.
Didn’t see any signs of the otter, but that would explain why it’s so hard to fish.
Will be a while before I fish there again if ever. Uckinghall much better at the moment it seems.

Hi Dave
I spent 5 hours there back on 21st July and caught a mixed bag. All on the float, nothing on the tip. Had the pool to myself so it was bliss! Pictures of catch below.
