Tried to have a look at Cropthorn today, followed the BAA directions, over the railway crossing, down the track to the houses on left, barn on right, track goes round to the right but then appears to just go into a crop field, drove into the field followed track as far as shelter for the workers but could see no evidence of car park, spoke to a couple who reckoned they had lived there for ten years, they said never seen anyone fishing, nor car park, no BAA signs in evidence, anyone got any info
cheers

Re: Cropthorn Avon

hi. one of my fav places. first car park. thou very over grown is just after the barn on the right. just before you enter the crop field. dead opp is a track that goes down towards the river, there is a tennis court on your left. it takes me 15 mins with a big carp barrow to get down to the river for this car park. but its worth it smiling
the 2nd car park is past the first, as you said your saw the shelter, well keep going across that field till end. and turn left. down track to a brick building, (pump house) . thats the 2nd car park.... and this is right on river smiling
its very deep (10 to 14ft) very slow, and if get the day right big bream on the cards, iv had them up to 7lb. carp to 14lb and few tench to 5lb. plus skimmer and roach.
all the best paul.

Re: Cropthorn Avon

Hi Paul
Many thanks for that, sounds like a bit of a walk, shame, my days of heavy tackle carrying are in the past, but thanks again for the info
Regards
Jim
