Thought this might be of interest to fladbury regulars,whilst pike fishing just upstream from jubilee bridge last Thursday I had a visit from a friendly otter!first one I,ve ever seen on the Avon,so don't know wether people are aware of them or not?

There's been a large dog otter at Fladbury for quite some time mate, I've never seen it myself, but it's been spotted a few times. Seems to frequent the area above the bridge, as you say. I haven't fished Fladbury much this season, but it does seem to have fished much worse than last season, as has the whole river, but that might not be otter related, the river has been low/clear for the bulk of the season, I've not really fished it much for that reason.

I fished the river at Fladbury (16th) yesterday. The river was in flood so I chose a spot just downstream of the mill stream, I have to say the barbel were in terrific form and I ended the day with 11 of them. Nothing huge the largest was 8lb.

Well done.....proof indeed that the river isn't as finished as some people make out. Last season was very good down there, as the river was swollen and coloured for a fair bit of the winter.
