Had a great day on the Upper River Seven yesterday.
Brilliant catching barbell and BIG chub on meat, and loads of dace, roach, and chubletts trotting maggots.
Funny, had the stretch all to myself. Didn't see a single person all day.

Re: Quiet on the river

Walking the riverbank at Wasperton on March 15th 2022 I came across an angler fishing a neighbouring clubs water who insisted that the season closed that day. Asked him to look in his club book to check the dates of the close season,he did and was "suprised" to see last day was the 14th. Weird that,I explained the same thing to him on March 15th 2021.
March 18th 2022,again walking the riverbank at Wasperton I found an angler fishing the first(top) peg of the BAA water. On telling him the 14th was the last day he told me that the 31st of March was actually the last day. He had, apparently, read it online that morning. Having talked to him on a few occasions previously while fishing or walking I knew he had a ticket for the neighbouring club water, asked him to look in the book, low and behold I was right. He also was "suprised" despite being an angler for over 40 years.
Fortunately for them I am not an EA bailiff.
