Re: ELECTRO FISHING CANALSWhen they electrofish the waters they are not the same for months after, as this process affects the silver fish too, the gulls have a field day.

Re: Birmingham and Fazeley Canal Tamworth - Where are the fish?C&RT employ a contractor company called MEM to carry out the work, heard this is at a cost of £800.00 per day, the Zander that are taken are sold into the food chain, most end up at Billingsgate Market where they are sold mainly to restaurants in London, there are Zander groups on Facebook following their antics.

Re: Birmingham and Fazeley Canal Tamworth - Where are the fish?Prior to the electrofishing Reg I was catching on every single session down here, not just from one spot but along its length, why can't the C&RT just leave the canals alone and stop treating them as fish farms, they only remove the zander to make money and other fish are also taken to be placed elsewhere!!!

Birmingham and Fazeley Canal Tamworth - Where are the fish?Have been down here a couple of times this year and blanked both times (lure fishing) also speaking to Carp anglers down there and they have also blanked, this used to be stuffed with fish, the worrying thing is, last night I walked a mile stretch of it with the fish finder and not one fish!!!
