Hi All,

does anyone know where the entrance is to the upper section of the river Lugg is as the map isn't correct, we have asked the landlord of the railway pub and he says people keep asking him the same and he doesn't know where it is, he also says the map isn't correct as his pub should be on the left side of the train bridge and not on the right side, we have located the other 2 locations but couldn't find an entrance to the upper area in Dinmore a photo would help online as we would like to fish there this weekend

cheers Andy

Hi Andy,

If you've got to the pub then you've gone way to far down the lane ( I think their postcode is just for reference) I've only been there once but I accessed it further up the hill nearer the main road, it does mean a bit of iffy parking is required as I had to park in the lane itself.

Yeah. We went. Up near the main road but could only find an entrance into the farmer fields, I will have another look sometime but as its nearly 22miles from where we live, so we won't bother going out there this weekend until I know how to get to the area, gonna look at somewhere else for this weekend, cheers. For the info tho

The only entrance i can see to this top section of the Lugg is through the fields, is that correct?

Yes it was the only access point I could find was through the fields, fairly near the one house up the top. It would concur with the BAA map which shows access at that point. Put it this way I had also come a long way If you call a trip from North London long lol I fished the lower sections too on the same day which have easier access

Yeah cheers, may look at the middle section as we originally looked at those and found we had to park up the road and walk down over the bridge and through the farm area to get to the River but it looks like a good spot

If you fish the stretch at Moreton just watch out for the cows, they're a bit overly friendly. And don't be lulled into a false sense of security if you see them on the other side, they are perfectly capable of crossing the river at the shallow bit just above where the river divides.

(There are some cracking trout in that stretch by the way)

Is this stretch fishable at the minute (any of the Lugg stretches) and worth an evening for the coarse fish?
