Hi can anyone give me any idea how long the walk is from Eymore Wood public car park down to the river at Trimpley.

The BAA website says it's quite a walk. As I live along way from the venue I don't get the chance to have a look before fishing. So a general idea of how much kit to take.

It looks quite a journey from the BAA website map.

Thanks in advance

Re: Trimpley

Hi Martin - it's a bugger. Parking is good at Eyemore Woods, but it is then a long descent down through the woods to the reservoirs, around them and down to the river. It's close to a mile and taking a trolley is difficult as paths through the wood are very uneven. Going downhill to the river is tough, but far worse is the walk back up the hill at the end of a session. I've studied OS maps and looked at trying to find short cuts through Water Works, but there are none. Last year I tried parking at Arley and walking downstream to Trimpley pegs, but again that is a mile along very uneven paths. Wish I could be more help, but access is a real issue.

Re: Trimpley

Hi,

Thanks for the info. That was what I feared, it looks a long journey. Not sure if the long drive and then a long walk is worth it.

Thanks for the real depth info you provided. It was much appreciated. Can you tell me are the Barbel in that stretch worth the effort ?

Cheers Martin.

Re: Trimpley

i was at Trimpley yesterday evening.
i park at Arley and walk the path. takes about 40 min to get to the gravel bed. but was stopping and looking at pegs on way down.
i used my carp barrow ( single wheel type) and find much easier this way
. once you get out the woods. you are in the field with the reservoirs. some solar panals on your left.
keep walking with river on your right. you will come to narrow foot brigde. just over this and down on your right is the big gravel beach. shallow and fast water !
its not a bad walk, much better than via the wood/ reservoir.
one way back up i fished the float near the B&B (worralls grove) nice bit of gravel in pacey flow.
but didn't catch anything.
walk back took 15 mins from the b&b but if its dark a good head torch a must if you don`t know path
and yes its worth the effort for barbel n chub smiling

Hi, I reckon it's about 20 mins from eyemore car park, I always travel light less tackle the better a roving approach is sometimes the best bet anyway.
