Fished wick sat 6th August bellow the weir opposite the marina. The river was very low and the fishing was real hard going only managed 2/3lb of bits only 4 pegs below the weir. I

Im sure there have been matches on here this year so where is everyone fishing? above the weir? I have heard you can get access to the pegs above the weir by driving down to the end of the meadow and cutting through is this correct anyone got any information about access and quality of pegs above the weir please

Re: Wick

No!
You used to be able to do as you asked, but not any more.
It is not too bad a walk anyway!
Pegs are OK.
Mostly about 14 feet deep.
Had some good pole fishing days there with roach, perch and hybrids, to castor and sometimes hemp and tare.

Re: Wick

It would be interesting to know what the truth is about this place because I went and fished yesterday and followed the BAA map and parked in the correct place. It is a decent walk especially up to the top end but then when you pack up and leave you find that other anglers have drove down to the river. Either there is access that we are not being told about, or anglers are abusing the land and using farmers tracks meaning that at some point they are going to get rathers annoyed. Could someone from the BAA please clear up if there is access highre up because there are certainly 2 tracks that come down to the river from the fields, but there is nothing to say that we can use them. I didn't ask the guys that had drove down as they didn't look the sort to interact with.
