I'm a new BAA member and went to Eastham Bridge today. However the gate code on my card was not the code to open the gate. There were no other instructions other than telephone number to BAA offices which were closed

Anyone been to eastham bridge, did i just miss something or is it the case that the code has not yet been changed?

If theyve not got round to changing the gate codes, could someone drop me the code from last year so as I'm not wasting more of my time if this happens again

Re: Have all gate codes been changed?

The locks were all changed on New Year’s Day.The only ones that weren’t changed were the ones that were inaccessible due to the rivers being in flood but all the ones on the Teme have definitely been done. The remaining ones will be done as soon as it’s possible to get to them when the flood water has resided

I don't know what happened then cause the code on my membership card definitely didn't work.

I mean the water level did seem very high at some point and looked like car park may have been flooded. Maybe Eastham bridge was one that hasn't been changed

No it was definitely changed I’ve checked with the fisheries officer,it was the first one he did on the Teme. Were you using the code off the 2024 card? Were the numbers aligned correctly with the little line on the lock? One of our bailiffs is going to pop down tomorrow and check it’s not faulty but I can assure it was changed and in working order on New Year’s Day

To add to Stew's reference to the little line that the numbers have to be aligned to, its usually the top row on the BAA's padlocks that have to be aligned, not the middle row like on a suit case. The little line along the top row is the key to entry. That catches a lot of us out at times smiling

The local bailiff has been out and checked the lock and there is nothing wrong with it.As I said above you can’t be lining the numbers up properly.Make sure you line the numbers up with the small line not move them all to the middle.

Oh okay my bad. I swear I tried in different positions but was early and slightly dark.

Thanks for your help anyways. Hopefully I'll manage it this weekend if I can get out
