Re: ripple bailif

No member should ever mind about being approached by an Association Bailiff, after all, they are only looking after your interests. And if you do not want to get involved in a conversation, all you have to say is "excuse me, but i want to carry on fishing".
Bailiffs should always be polite, but firm when speaking to members and any who aren't should be reported to the BAA office. When you are approached by a Bailiff, they will show you their Warrant card containing a photo and their name. If they don't, you should request to see it and make a note of the bailiff's name in case you intend to make a report.
Regarding the rules on fishing times and to be absolutley clear, there is no mention in the rules about "before or after dark".
The rules state that members should not be fishing, or even present, at any BAA fishery, before one hour before sunrise and after one hour after sunset. This means that you have to be packed up and gone by the stated time (which in summer can often be before it is properly dark).
Sunrise and sunset times are published on the internet and can be accessed via a link on the BAA web site.
