Hello All
I took a trip to fish the Cropthorne section of the Avon today, 06/09/21.
The conditions were very dry the temperature hit 30 degrees later.
I mention this because in wet conditions, this track would be impossible to negotiate without a four by four vehicle!
Sad to say that there is evidence of Fly-tipping.
Also when I did get to the end of the track it ran onto the field?
Is there bankside parking?
Can a Bailiff take a look and let us know what the situation is with the parking in Meadow 12?

Keep on Fishing

Re: Track to Cropthorne to fish Meadow 12 - VERY BADLY RUTTED & Fly Tipped!

There has been a marked decline in work done on venues this season, some venues are so overgrown it has made them impossible to fish. I don't mind a bit of wilding but this is another level.
I understand the Association has factored out this work to private contractors , but this seems to have teething problems. Any updates from the club would be good as to what is being done and the way ahead, otherwise membership will surely tail off. Covid saw a spike in membership, it surely can't be a lack of funds.

Re: Track to Cropthorne to fish Meadow 12 - VERY BADLY RUTTED & Fly Tipped!

I have recently joined the BAA after returning to fishing as a schoolboy and was looking at getting some great enjoyment out of this fantastic sport having recently taken early retirement.

Early experiences have been good but marred by the access to some of the pools I have been to. For example Nordley Pools 3 - 6 (access roads have become very narrow due to hedgerows being overgrown with nettles & brambles etc), and Mythe Pool (access road is very rutted).

Is there any plan to highlight and address these issues?
