Hello Fellow D’anglers,
So,
David Henderson, CEO of the industry lobby group WATER UK, has claimed the issue of gallons of raw sewage being spewed out on a daily basis is because more people have taken up outdoor pursuits such as
“Wild Swimming” - Canoeing and Paddle Boarding!!

Non of the above pursuits pay a penny piece to use the waters!
How much money does the EA receive from ALL Anglers, Coarse - Game and Sea?
How much money does the C& RT receive from Anglers to fish their waters?
How much does the BAA have to pay to rent the waters on the rivers?
How many fish have been killed recently on the Upper Avon?
Good old Fergal Sharkey and Paul Whitehouse for banging the drum for us D’anglers
Or else we might not be able to

During a conversation with a fellow angler,on the riverbank at Wasperton late last year,I said the same thing. If it wasn't for the wild swimmers the ongoing polluting of our rivers by water treatment companies would not have been exposed to the general public. I think their bringing it to the attention of Joe/Jane public is worth far more than any financial contribution they could make for using the waters. Anglers views on the matter have been ignored for years.

I have read in The Mail on Sunday - June 18 - 2023 an article headline

Oh please
Fergal Sharkey and Paul Whitehouse both avid and renowned Anglers, who have both been on TV recently with TV Programs to inform the public of the untold damage that the Water Utilities have done to the River Systems within England and Wales and continue to do so on a daily basis, with the release of raw sewage.
As the mouthpiece of the Water Utilities your lack of acknowledgement and remorse to the community of Anglers for the havoc and destruction of the fish stocks and the habitat in which all creatures of the waters live is shameful.

So I urge you all to
Go on and pester these people till they get the message that we want them to stop the discharges of effluents into our rivers
