May be a simple answer to this, but are there any clubs that focus on matches on BAA river venues these days? I learned match fishing back in the 80s on the Severn, Avon and Wye, and have recently returned to fishing after a break of many years to find that everybody fishes puddles with guaranteed kamikaze carp rather than using the many river venues we have available.
If there are clubs who focus on rivers, could someone point me in their direction please? If there aren't, how easy would it be to set up a new club in time for 2016?

Still quite a few old style clubs left I'm happy to say ! I'm the youngest member of our long standing club and I'm 57 ! Our venues for this year include Pensham, Ripple, Mythe Pool, Staffs Worcester and Worcester Bham canals.
I'm sure the BAA used to list all the affliated clubs on the old web site ???
But rest assured were all not sat around commercials we still believe in "fishing" not just "catching".

Yes oldmonkey....I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone. Hope there is a response on here as I would also be interested. Would the BAA be permitted to let us know about clubs that fish predominantly rivers or would that be some sort of breach of confidentially? Come on Mr. Williams, help us out

Peter where is your club based how many members do you have mate. The Blue ball club that post on here seem to fish mainly rivers not sure where they are based

Hi Dave most of the members of which there are about 20 live in an around Bham and the Black Country with a couple of exceptions in Herefordshire (me) and Worcestershire. We don't have a hq as such we have our agm after one of the matches at a suitable local hostilliery. If you want any further info just drop me your email address.
