Saturday 12/3/2022 we fished the GirlingAS side of Fladbury, that's opposite the BAA right bank stretch and as Reg (reservoir reg) has asked for results from the area this is the last weekend before the end of the season and a last chance to assess improvement.
We have been experiencing high Phosphate levels and heard that the EA have completed the work above Fladbury and following a flush there was some optimism.

Result;-
Steve had a 7lb Barbel and a small Chub for 7-11-0
Frank had three Chub for 4-3-0 and lost a big Chub in the roots.
Roger had two Chub for 2-4-0
Two good anglers blanked.

That's 7 fish from five pegs in a 5 hour match and only Barbel and Chub caught.
There were no bits, no Roach, Dace or Perch on a day when the river had colour and pace, looking perfect.
Pleasure anglers since November 2021 have said the same, there only seems to be Chub in the stretch, normally teeming with Dace.
That's it until June, we have three months for further recovery, fingers crossed.

Thank you Frank for posting such a concise report on your contest on the Girling waters opposite the BAA Fladbury waters!

Like you said a disappointment for you and your club anglers not to have the Silver Fish!

With the next three months fallow for fishing on the rivers, let us hope Mother Nature can bring the river back to life

Keep on Fishing
