Well what can i say ..as Reg said we 4 rolled up with good intentions...me being a lazy sod i stopped at the first fishable peg and what a peg it was as it looked lovely.. a boat on the far side and even a hand made duck house perched in the far bank reed beds ,Perfect spot . i plumbed it up 3 lines top kit ..down the track and even 1 over next to the duck house.. to say i was optimistic was a understatement.. now 1 hour in i hadn't had a bite (nothing) not even a twitch.. It was as if the canal was dead , not a breath of wind not a ripple even all the surface leaves were stationary it really was like looking at a postcard... well trying not to be beaten i got my head down and cracked on.. still nothing.it got to the stage that i was lost ,, i ran out of ideas and didn't know what to do next...take a break have a walk to see how the chaps are doing... well while i was chatting to Reg and co 2 blokes 2 wives and 2 dogs appeared on the tow path behind my peg took their phones out and started filming the boat opposite..well there it was running the full length of the boat .. i want back and said what you filming ?? One bloke and his wife said the otter over there THEY live in that little wooden house in the reeds ... i only seen 1 but by all accounts 2 live in the duck house...
Not my best moment sitting for several hours with my float dotted down hard against a OTTER house.(wondering why i carnt get a bite).. so i did what any respectable fisherman would do ... chucked my gear back in the van and went to the pub..

one good thing that came from that day was seeing how much the lads were laughing at me ...PRICELESS....
who needs enemies right....lol
