Hi lads & lasses

Its been too long since the last post on this section of the forum so I thought I'd add another "this time last year" post (I hadn't joined this forum then).

Carp Poles, being shorter than match poles and made of thicker sections of carbon (or carbon composite) have another feature in their design often missed by most anglers, that being their superb through action when the tip is held high when playing a big fish. Just the same as when playing a fish on the rod, its important that the pole takes the stress off the line (as well as the elastic).

The proof of the pudding is the Carp in the photo attached which vacuumed up a small piece of meat presented on a size 12 hook under a lift float waggler rig on 4mtrs of 7lb line at Nordley 2 this time last when the "fish local" directive was dropped.

I'd had success with fish to 9lb using this method at both Retreat Farm & Nordley 4 previously, but I hadn't set eyes on Nordley 1&2 for over 25yrs and was surprised at how much bigger the fish were there.

Interesting stuff, that carp is as fat as butter.
