Re: Found - landing net at Holt Fleet 4th May

The net belongs to a friend of mine who I was fishing with yesterday, he left it leaning against the fence when loading his car. The net is a square type with a plastic cable tie through the end of the handle. I will pass on the information. Perhaps you could leave it with the lock keeper next time you go to Holt. Thank you.

Re: Birmingham and Fazeley canal

Good evening, I bailiff this section of canal and have caught everything from large Carp, plenty of good sized Perch and Roach. I normally fish behind the hotel and I always use medium to large worms. if you fish maggot or casters you will catch small fish. I have also spin fished with a small mepp and caught plenty of small Pike. Tight lines.

Re: Wasperton

Hello Brian and welcome back to the BAA.
I fish Wasperton during the autumn and winter for pike and in the summer for barbel. I have also caught several wild river carp between 10-12lb. The chub and roach are not so prolific as they used to be. I tend to use larger baits when coarse fishing, pellets, meat and worms, if you use maggots etc you will catch plenty of smaller fish but it will not be long before the pike move in.
You can have a full days sport walking the beat with a spinning rod, you will catch plenty of perch and pike. You may also take the occasional large chub.

I hope the reply was helpful.
Happy new year
Peter

Re: Trent @ Handsacre

Handsacre is best fished in autumn and winter. Roach, perch, chub are plentiful once you have got them feeding, any bait will work, maggots, meat, bread etc.
I spin for Pike during the winter and have never had a blank day.
The river is very weedy with depths about 3-4 feet, the flow is perfect for stick float fishing when river is at normal winter level. Access and parking is good, you can park behind your peg.
All pegs fish well.
