Photos by Paul Hitchman and others

I’ve been following these forums and a member for a couple of years now and have been helped by some anglers on the forums but more on the banks when fishing, rarely see fish caught on the bank so it’s hard to see what people catch and what’s about. I understand specimen hunters want to keep things quiet due to the pressures on the fish and as a barbel man the forums are not much help.
Paul Hitchmans photos and descriptions over the last couple of years and others who bother to post great pics of chub, roach, pike and other fish away from the usual barbel and carp have fired me up to get out my float rod and dust off my old Abu reel and floats, I’ve even found out my old spinning rod and reel and really looking forward to the better weather, just wanted to say thanks to all those who post, reply and talk.
Well done all.

Floods and Stranded fish, is this a problem for us?

Walking the dog around Tewkesbury last year, my nephew found some decent bream floundering in fields, the EA came and rescued them.
I’m retired now so have time to go and look, So below Evesham or Worcester are there areas on the baa worth my time looking at? Maybe farmers and the EA are good at this thing? I don’t know.
Your thoughts please,
Roger

Apperley pools

Had a look at Apperley pools today to see all the hard work done by the works party. Good to see the new platforms and car park by the lake, well done Baa, look forward to try it in the better weather, Must be 25yrs since I fished it. Unfortunately the new pegs are underwater at the moment and access is deeply rutted and very muddy, had to park in gabb lane, just in case anyone was planing a trip.
