Re: Newhall's Meadow, Stourport

I'm no expert but chuck a swim feeder with red maggots/breadcrumb ground bait out with double red maggots on my hook towards the far side. (Deeper water boats stick to the far side). Had plenty of bream they do tend to come and go. More expert fishermen would have the skills to keep them in their swim. Their are also some large perch 2 to 3 lbs. I'm never disappoint when fishing Newhalls. Never seen any chub or barbel come out of this stretch of water though.

Re: Newhall's Meadow, Stourport

Wow! great to see the good work going on at Newhalls Meadows and the recent review in the angling times. I really hope the extra work is done to clear the rest of the pegs early next year with some new pegs dug out. I often fish this stretch as I have a caravan near by. There are some large bream and roach along this stretch you won't be disappointed . Their is plenty of parking either by the funfair or by the old beams pub with a 10 minute walk down to the river on the side of the rowing club.

Give it ago you won't be disappointed. There are no Travellers as previous posts so don't be put off.

Re: Newhalls Meadow - a sorry tale

Well done to the team, great to see a large proportion of the pegs now open some serious tree cutting has taken place.

This is a great stretch of water with large bream and roach waiting to be caught especially at this time of the year and throughout the winter months.

Re: Newhalls Meadow - a sorry tale

Newhalls Meadow - Is still a sorry tale its a discrace how this beautiful stretch of water has been neglected. The stretch needs some serious work to remove fallen branches and is beyond just pushing the weeds to one side with a fishing rod. Come on BAA get the chain saws out and the members will do the rest to maintain the pegs as I often do. I understand you do rely on a team of volunteers and there is no current date on your fisheries plan. I have to wonder if the same situation happened at one of your pools you would leave it so long to put right.

Winter is just around the corner so nows the time to prepare this excellent stretch of water with big roach and bream waiting to be caught.
