Re: How about a Tackle-tip section?

Gawd no not another tackle tip forum, on another site it's full of inane what hook, rod, reel, bivvy shirt, yes shirt, rod rest the whole shabang.
Of course none of it matters a jot to the fish, not what hook, or even the shirt on you back, what really matters is water craft...now that's a thought?

Sorry Neil I cant stop laughing . How many times as the question been asked on BFW what hook ,rod, reel, rod rest etc, etc . I am sure if you go back far enough in time you have asked the same question at some point in the past .

How else are people going to learn .If they don't ask questions and ask for advice . Perhaps you should post the same remarks you have made on here on B F W and see what kind of reaction you get from your fellow barbel fishing members on B F W ?

Re: Cotheridge river teme

Nelly I don' t know if you are on face book ? There are posts of barbel still being caught of the Teme

So they are making a slow return to the Teme , Which can only be good news

Re: a decent day on the jig heads on the cut

On the Canal &River Trust website it clearly states and I quote '' Its is a illegal to return any zander caught from a canal '' So its there in black and white for all to see . So its not a case of turning a blind eye. Its a case of if they can enforce that statement ?

Now the BAA clearly state that all zander caught from a canal must be returned alive .
Which puts them in breach of the statement made by the Canal & River Trust .

So what happens when a BAA bailiff comes across some one who has caught zander from the canal and not returned them to the canal ?

The angler in his defence tells the bailiff that the Canal & River Trust clearly state that it is illegal to return any zander caught back in to the canal ? So I assume when they say its illegal to return zander to the canal , They have the law as it stands on there side ? So I can only assume when the BAA states that zander when caught from a canal must be returned . In theory can not be in forced by the BAA .

So I can only assume that the BAA by telling anglers to return any zander to the canal . Are telling them to commit a illegal act .

Re: a decent day on the jig heads on the cut

I am curious to know if you understand the meaning of the word illegal ? You say having established its fine . I am wondering how you came to that conclusion when clearly it is not fine ,
When the Canal & River Trust clearly state that it is not fine to return any zander caught from the canal . You say I am clutching at straws . I think you are the one clutching at straws by suggesting its fine to return any caught zander back in to the canal .

You say the Canel & River Trust cant afford to loose there funding ?
I assume like any other oranisation there are bound to follow rules, laws and regulations as to how it runs its self . I assume they are governed by the Enviroment Agency . So any breach of any rules or regulations , Then I would assume the they would soon be contacted by the EA .

So I am guessing that the Canal & River Trust would not be turning a blind eye to any rules or regulations that are being broken that they state on there website . When they say it is illegal to return any zander caught from the canal ?

People can argue as much as they like the rules are there in black and white

Re: a decent day on the jig heads on the cut

Assuming the the Canal & River Trust are the riparian owners of the canals ? It clearly states on there website that zander are not to be returned when caught .

I assume that the BAA lease there canal waters from the Canal & River Trust and by telling members that all zander must be returned to the canal when caught.
Are in breach of any agreement, rules set by the Canal & River Trust for the leasing of there canals.

It would be interesting to see what kind of response the Canal & River Trust would make of the fact that the BAA are telling its members that all zander caught from there canals must be returned when caught ? When clearly on there website , zander are not to be returned .
