It is a pet hate of mine when I see anglers without unhooking mats.
2 of the current 'pictures of the week' featured on the BAA homepage show good sized pike being handled without use of them, and I believe the safety and well fare of the fish in out waters should be paramount.
The blood detailed on the hand of one member in one of the photographs being showcased also raises concern. Perhaps some anglers are not as competent in unhooking certain species of fish, maybe it is me just being anal. but I think it a travesty that these sort of photographs be the forefront of the homepage.
