Re: Naming pegs/forum rules

Hi All.
I was just reading the mans question which is great one. We travel from Cornwall to fish the Severn for 6-8wks a year and for a fair few years now as we only have ponds/puddles down here(Sad Times) but the fishing on the Severn is seriously in a class of it's own when it comes down to Barbel fishing every stretch we have we have fished from has produced great numbers just have to roam and find the pegs that's the best way sometimes the fish drop back or move up but there are pegs where I can guarantee a red letter every time but to be fair we do keep them to our self's(Being Honest) but they are fished by other anglers too as the pegs are there. We all help people out on the bank as we are a friendly bunch smiling We talked to 2 old school lads from London and they had no fish in 6 days-So we gave up our pegs at 1pm after catching several and put them in the pegs,Changed there Carpi set up to ours gave them feeders,Banded Hooks,Swivel Beads,Pellets told them where to cast and within an 1hr they had 5 out between them and lost 2-Their fish care was excellent or other wise we guide them in the right direction as that's all part of protecting Our Barbel-was well worth it seeing the beaming smiles on there faces and creating memories for them both on there last day as well. Soz about the essay there ain't no written rule on naming great spots people do keep some to them selves that's what makes them special to you, We did the best way just roam and you will find some crazy pegs-we don't like going to over fished places cause we roam and are limited to pegs in popular places. Anyway Tight Lines All but the River looks horrible at the moment fingers crossed for the Barbel and new challenges with snags when we are back up lol.

Re: Boy's first pike

About the photo of the young boy he looks well chuffed with catching the pike and yes at first I was a bit worried about the fish being laid on rocks as he was with an adult who should have known better to be honest and taken it to a grass area to be photographed-but the boy didn't want to hold the fish as a pike looks scary to be fair. Hopefully next time with guidance he will show fish care-kids like these are the future of our fishing and like myself and every other adult we all learn't fish care from others. Good luck to the boy for future fishing adventures and Tight Lines to you all-Cheers Daz.
