Re: Nordley PoolsHi. I recently found out the reason for the new gates at nordley. I got talking to a gentleman who was out walking his dog. And he tells me he lives close by and that poachers have been and pretty much emptying the pools. Which would have been nice to have known before I started going here again. I have only managed a single carp out of pool 2 and other guys I have spoken to have only managed to get 1 all day. Some even none.

Re: Nordley PoolsI use to come to nordley all the time about 8 years ago until the kids started playing footy. You use to be able to catch all sorts of carp. I had heard that there were tench and barbel in pool 2. Along with bream and the usual silver fish. But...... since starting coming back again this last few bank holidays I have found it incredibly hard to catch any carp. I have so far only managed to get 1 common which was a good mid teen. I was thinking that something wasn't right. Something had to be wrong because it use to be so productive of carp. I had found that I was getting snagged up in a lot of twigs and branches in all sorts of spots in the pool 2. It seems as though all the maintenance that has been done to the pool has been thrown into the pool. But this is only one of the reasons, I was recently fishing pool 1 instead of 2 to try and make sure I would catch but 2 hours in I got talking to a chap who lives there. And he told me poachers had been emptying the pools. He said you use to be able to see a lot of the carp in the cruising when he walks his dog but now nothing. I would like to know if baa are planning on re stocking. Myself and nearly every carp fisher that I had spoken to have been catching nothing maybe 1 if lucky. Spending a lot of money on bait only to waste it on fish that aren't there anymore and losing tackle on branches left in the water.
