Re: arley

That sounds like a cracking day. Any roach over a pound is welcome to take my bait if it wants.

Well done.

Re: keep nets

I've not used a keepnet at all in the last 20 years or so. Not even for silver fish. I bought a net about 12 years ago because it was cheap, it's still in it's wrapper.

Any fish I catch go straight back in. I might take a photo as a record if they are decent fish but that's it.

Re: Gate Closed at Harbour Inn

I was there in the evening same day. As you say the gate to the field was closed to keep the sheep in.

It was a bit pointless because the sheep were getting into the car park under the bottom rail of the stile. There were 3 sheep in the car park when I arrived. I did my sheep dog impersonation and rounded them up and as I did so they shot back under the stile into the field.

Not much I could do to stop them getting out again but I thought I'd done my best.

Tackle trolley.

I need a bit of advice.

I've always had a rule that if I only take my gear if I can carry it. It's to make sure I only take essentials and not loads of pointless clobber. It's been great so far but I fracture my spine last year and now I find my rucksack and rod holdall/quiver is too much for me unless I drop into a swim near the car park.

I need to get a tackle trolley that will take rucksack, rod holdall and my fishing chair. I've never even looked at these things before so I've no idea what to buy. Obviously one of the barrow like monstrosities the carp anglers use would be over the top. I just need something that will be ok to trundle along the banks of the Severn.

Can anyone recommend anything please.
