Hi Reg

You know me, ever ready to blank again but in good company, so put me down as a definite.

Re: b.a.a.forum d’anglers AC - Issac Walton Plate - Winner of the 2023 Contests Aggergate

To be honest Bin I don't think that even the blokes who'd pegged out before I got there noticed it.
The hook was stuck on an under water snag @1.5mtrs out from the bush, not in the bush, and the connected pole tip section was floating like a long reed on the surface and had dragged the float under, so that couldn't be seen either.
At least I fished something out on my second visit to the peg (LOL) and I went home with a bigger smile on my face than the day beforesmiling

Re: b.a.a.forum d’anglers AC - Issac Walton Plate - Winner of the 2023 Contests Aggergate

Hi Raver

Thanks for assisting with the pegging out at Stoke Prior. You'll be pleased to know that the "noted peg" that I fished on Saturday was unblemished for the start of Sunday's match, I managed to hook the offending snagged rig and damaged top section out with my Edge Monster Margin well before the next match started and before any swans got caught up in it too. What a relief.
It would be interesting to know how that peg fished on Sunday with it being a dreek and drizzly daysmiling

Re: b.a.a. forum d’anglers AC 5th & Final Contest of 2023 - B-W Canal Stoke Prior

It was a pleasure to be one of the Weighing In duo for this last match, not many fish caught but to see such good quality fish coming out was a joy. The winning bag by Charlie was only 4 fish, 3 decent Hybrids caught close in on bread flake having changed from fishing a pinky on the far side earlier where he'd only had one tiddler. Nice change of tactics Charlie.

89yr old Mr Fishy Snr (Brian) is the bloke to watch out for next year. He's weighed in every match and had a PROPER Bream out on this last match. Well done Brain. Well done all in fact and glad that Meatman could join us again, despite Dr's orders to take it easy until his heart op, he even caught some half decent hybrids.

A lovely day out with you lot again, a pleasure to have presented Charlie with the Isaac Walton Memorial Plate trophy and apologies for missing the group photo while having a fag brake (Doh). I'll never change.

Cheers

Re: Severn Stoke barbel fishing ?

Hi RN

Severn Stoke and other Barbel hang outs will be prolific at the moment but I'm committed to fishing the last Forum D'Anglers match this year on the BW Canal this Saturday and the wife will be upset if I abandon her on Sunday too.

Never mind, there's a chance that the following weekend will also be good for a barbel outing on the Severn. I've got plenty of tins of Tulip Luncheon meat to get through this winter.

Have you been catching any Severn Stoke Barbel yourself recently RN? smiling
