Re: River Teme, barbel im very worried the Teme will be low level for some time...a few weeks ago, in the rain, i saw the field near Bransford being watered by means of water pumped straight out of the river...they watered that field for a whole week!! Rain or shine !! Walking upstream at the weekend i counted 3 pumps between Bransford and Leigh....i dread to think how many others there are..i know farmers can use the rivers but some places they seem to be sucking it dry,,and for what? Re: Stacklands (Wye) Me oh My Theres Barbel In the Wye !!!!! As one of the less skilled, more fun anglers here i went to Stacklands on Friday hoping for no more than some nice new scenery,and yes it has that ! A beautiful stretch with so many great pegs to choose from, i decided for a walk and went up into the third field through the gate, i found a great peg shallow water on the edge with a fast flow on the opposite bank. Feeder full of bread and cat food(dry salmon n trout pellets) and a 12mm halibut pellet. Sat back and was soaking up the scenery when , wham, my PB estimated 11/12 lb then in next hour 3 more all close to doubles if not over,,i dont weigh em and try to unhook in net still in water...even had a small chub too. All i can say to the more avid angler is get down there the place is superb and if i can catch 4 whoppers on my cheap n cheerful tackle i bet theres some specimens in here . Halfway along , most pegs busy last night. We all used 6 and 12 mm halibuts I think , oh and not my daughter but nice to see some "youth" enjoying the river.
