Holt Fleet I was at Holt Fleet earlier and just wanted to say what a good job the guys have done clearing out a few more pegs below the weir. I've never seen the river so low there but it was still fishing OK and is much more peaceful now the fish pass has been finished. Posted on June 21, 2022 at 7:31 PM
Re: Retreat Farm Continued From April (KenL) I tried it a month ago on a clear sunny day and had no bites or saw any indication of fish. But a local who'd come to feed the swans said he had seen a nice carp caught the week before so there are still fish in there - just not many and there appear to be no smaller fish. It's a shame as it's a gorgeous setting with nice pegs and given the raised banks now provide flood protection it would really benefit from restocking. Posted on April 30, 2022 at 5:53 PM
Re: coppice lake Still the same when I was there in early December and from chatting to the bailiff no plans to sort it. He didn't think it was too bad compared to some of the tracks - and he's probably right about that given the state of some of the others - but that's a pretty low bar. I wasn't comfortable driving down there and others have also commented on it. I appreciate the BAA don't want to spend money on relaying the track if they don't own the land but for a few hundred pounds they could at least fill in the bigger potholes and given this is probably their most popular pool it would be money well spent before it get's busy in the spring.
