Re: Is our rule legal?

Never thought that I would see recipe tips on this forum. I am quite good at the old cookery lark myself. I find that a 10 pound Barbel makes for a good family meal. I use 4mm halibut pellets for feed and leave them in the fish, and tell the kids that it is caviar, but for a romantic candlelight supper, for just me and the Wife I find that a 2 pound Roach does the trick. When they are over 3 pounds I always put them back, as they can be too tough, too chewy. I always cook them whole and leave the eyes in, to see me through the week.

Re: Pictures of the week.

Okay, I was wrong about the last one, but I know the current one. This lovely venue, I can reveal is opposite the marina from where our bailiffs hold their annual regatta. They will all be there, including Bailiff Dale and Bailiff Stu (good cop, bad cop). Spectators are welcome, and it is tradition to fire a catapult of maggots at them as they sail by. See you there.

Re: Zander at Severn Stoke

Hi Johnny-care. BAA guide book under bye-laws and regulations. Contests rules G10 quote All fish with the exception of Zander shall be returned alive to the water unquote. Now this can only mean Zander returned dead or not returned at all.

Zander at Severn Stoke

I was just going through past match results, and came across Yardley Ex Service contest at Severn Stoke August 8. A near 7lb Zander was weighed in, and bearing in mind they should not be returned to the water alive (BAA rule ) I would be interested to know if that was the case. Although I never want to catch one I don't think my conscience would allow me to kill it. Am I alone on this one?
