Re: Severn Pollution Levels

An interesting article from thee Shropshire Star:
http://www.shropshirestar.com/news/environment/2022/07/12/dinosaur-...

Having to pump in that much additional water, just goes to show the level of abstraction.
At one point last year, the level dropped to just 2 cm on the Bewdley gage, and with no top up water to dilute what's going in, I dare say the TDS and bacterial load of the river water would have been off the charts.

Weed

I'm not very mobile at the moment, so I've only been out on the river once so far this season. I fished Arley and was shocked to see no streamer weed (Water Crowsfoot) at all.
Is the rest of the river the same?
I recall a year in the mid 2000s when there was no weed, and wondered whether there had been some sort of herbicide spill - the fishing was terrible for two years after that.

Re: QUESTION: River Severn - Severn Stoke, Bushley,Ripple, Apperley - Swim acessability

Personally, I'd stick with the Avon.
The banks are much safer if you have physical impairments, and many venues have landing stages.

Re: Any ideas?

With two grains on a size 10, hook exposure night be an issue. I'd start off by dropping down to a 12 and just nicking one grain.
Increase feeder weight.
Put a rubber float stop and a bead above the feeder - slide the stop up the line, and it's a standard running ledger, slide it towards the feeder, and you have a semi-fixed bolt rig.
Oh, and I know it's obvious, but make sure you know the difference between the feeder rolling and a bite.
